Better Mango Lassi

Take a crack at this recipe for a healthier alternative to egg nog. Made with almonds, egg yolk, kefir, and warming spices such as turmeric, cinnamon, and cardamom, this mango lassi is sure to tickle your taste buds. There’s no need to strain the almonds with a nut milk bag, as they’ll blend smoothly with the mixture. For a healthier beverage, use kefir instead of regular plain yogurt. The egg yolk adds a rich creaminess to this indulgent treat. I tend to skip the use of additional sweeteners when I use super ripe and juicy mangoes, but feel free to sweeten it accordingly.

Ingredients
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups mangoes, cubed
- 1 cup full fat kefir or plain full fat yogurt
- 1/4 cup. Dr. Cowan’s Garden Crispy Sprouted Organic Almonds plus 4-5 crushed almonds for garnish

1/4 tsp. Dr.
Cowan’s Garden Organic Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 cup filtered water
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- pinch of cardamom powder
- pinch of nutmeg
- Sweetener to taste (optional)
Directions
Crack an egg and separate the yolk.
Peel and dice the mangoes or use frozen mango cubes.
Add mango and all remaining ingredients to a food processor, and blend at high speed for 1 minute until you get a smooth consistency.
Pour the lassi into a glass and garnish with crushed almonds. Enjoy!
